In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My Media product stuck to most forms and conventions of a real media product. I made a Horror movie trailer (Slasher Trailer) and the aspects of my trailer and a real trailer are very similar for example... there is only a teenage class which gives a very lawless presence about it. The males are very much the dominant characters and the girls are both very easily lead by the boys, which is the same as in many other horror films around.We did not show visible features of the 'Final Girl' in our trailer to keep the audience wondering who it was, and to maybe keep them more wanting to find out who the final girl is. I kept with quite a generic slasher film with many killings and a lot of gore involved in it, this doesn't challenge the conventions of a real horror film. Throughout the trailer you see that there is a final girl by one of the girls dying which obviously left the audience with a clear final girl who you may not have expected to be the Final girl. The audience can find themselves showing empathy towards a few characters involved in this Trailer whereas in a real Horror trailer you would not get this because it is quite confusing for the audience because it is harder to define which characters are the 'good' ones and which ones are the 'bad' characters, i personally think this develops an original idea of having clear roles within the trailer because it gives the audience something different then what they are bombarded with day in day out. In conclusion i think that my media trailer sticks to most of the forms and conventions of a real Media product in the way of having similar characters within and having a male as both the protagonist and antagonist which is usually the case in horror trailers, by having a final girl also keeps it on track with the forms and conventions of a horror trailer. The ways we don't keep to the forms and conventions is where we don't necessarily have clear roles for characters such as through the most part of the trailer you can not distinguish the final girl where normally it is very clear who to sympathies with.
